The Dog Adventure Centre has a variety of Socialisation Activities for you and your dog to get involved in. Some are perfect for dogs just wanting a bit of a play and to find a new friend, while others are more suited to dogs that have socialisation issues and require attention from our Training Team.
You can try coming on a friendly and relaxed socialisation walk or experience the fun of seeing your puppy play with other puppies in our Puppy Socialisation sessions. You may want to come along on one of our fab overnight holidays in Pembrokeshire or the Peak District where we teach you a range of activities to do with your dog!
Socialisation Walks – These occur every Saturday at 9.00am & every Tuesday at 11am. It is a great opportunity to allow your dog to meet other dogs in a controlled and relaxed way. It also allows you to meet other owners who may just become your friends. To attend a walk all dogs need to have had a Social Assessment at The Dog Adventure Centre (£15). Once the assessment is complete you can then join any social walk. All Social Walks are £5 and start from Whisby Nature Reserve opposite the Dog Adventure Centre
On each walk you will always find a trainer on hand to assist and to help you get the most out of the walk.
Puppy Socialisation (for puppies under 6 months) – The most important start to a dogs life is good quality socialisation. This is the foundation to not having a dog who is scared or fearful of the world around. The puppy socials allow puppies under 6 months old to explore meeting other puppies and adult dogs in a controlled and relaxed environment. This means you know that your puppy is getting the best start in life! Puppy Socialisation happens every Saturday at 10am and we have an overflow session at 11am.
Open Play Socialisation (recommended for Dogs over 6 months of age)
We host open play sessions for dogs to come along to our secure Dog Adventure Paddocks for a good old run around. This session is for Dog Friendly dogs only and is not appropriate for anxious and aggressive dogs. You can seek help from our trainers for these dogs. The play session will take place at our Dog Adventure Paddocks LN6 4RR.
Saturday Mornings 9am
Saturday Afternoons 3pm
Sunday Afternoons 3pm
Wednesday Evenings 7pm (Spring and Summer Time Only)
Prices are £4 per dog or £3 with a membership card. Pay on the day. Please remember you are responsible for your own dog, its behaviours and its mess. Our team will be on site but only in an observation capacity. All sessions last 1 hour.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL our Open Play Sessions are run by trained professionals with vast experience and qualifications in handling large groups of dogs. They may ask you to leave the session if they think your dog is overly anxious or causing other dogs difficulty.
Intensive Socialisation Training – This is where your dog comes to stay with us at the Dog Adventure Centre and learns how to be around other dogs in a safe and calm way. This is a tailormade service that requires an initial questionnaire and consultation. Prices start from £250 per week. For more information please call 01522 402993
Dog Adventure Days – Every Thursday we organise a fantastic day out for the dogs! We explore new terrain and some exciting environments such as Woodland Trails, Secluded Beachs and Windy Rivers as well as some special days out to the Peak District and beyond!
Each dog can be collected from their home by our skilled and professional team. They can then join the rest of the Adventure Gang and head off on their awesome day of play and adventure before being dropped back off at your home (or the Dog Adventure Centre).
They will be tired, socialised and most importantly happy and safe. We take loads of photos of their experience so you can see just how amazing their day was. We also occasionally work with a great Pet Photographer who joins us for the day and gives you the opportunity to keep one or a selections of photos of your dog in action.
Prices start from £30 per dog. For more information please get in touch.
Socialisation Holidays – We visit areas of outstanding natural beauty that not only accept dogs but LOVE dogs! We go as a group and explore new areas and learn how to enjoy life with our best friends. We try activities such as canoeing, climbing, hill walking and many more. Keep an eye on our events page for upcoming holidays!
